Just in case my fellow 40 followers thought I might be dead... here are the reasons I have been a bad blogger.
Reason 1
I moved in with my boyfriend
That is correct, long gone are the days of living at home with my parents wasting hours away on the internet skyping with my boyfriend moaning about long distance relationships and not having my own space. We moved into a beautiful 2 bedroom flat about a 6 minute walk from work, with TWO BATHROOMS and some funds to deck it out in a way that we saw fit! More pictures of Bayes-Curtis Towers and the lovely things I have bought to go in it in some up and coming posts.
Reason 2
NO INTERWEBZ
Obviously moving in to a new place means delayed period without Internet. So I gathered up all the pretentious films I could get my hands on, got both series of Twin Peaks and lots of scrubs to prepare for the long slog without interwebs. As a self confessed Internet ADDICT, as is Andrew I was a bit concerned about it all. No facebook, twitters, tumblr, livejournal, buying stuff, IMDB resolving arguments, no world of warcraft and no blogging. My phone was a bit shit to go on most things and I felt out of the Internet loop. However I must advise you IT WAS REALLY LIBERATING! I didn't really miss it other than to buy things for the flat. Since getting sky tv and my own space I have knocked 5 hour stints of refreshing twitter and facebook and looking at tumblr on the head and I feel better for it.
Reason 3
Lack of sofa and its depressing side effects
We bought our sofa (above) before moving in. However because sofa shops only make to order (in case they go bust and have to shift 300 sofas in a warehouse) I am STILL WAITING for my sofa. NINE ENTIRE WEEKS of sitting on (and breaking one) po-ang Ikea chairs and the floor. It is quite depressing not being able to flop down on the sofa after work, or cuddle up with my boyfriend and watch shite on TV. It has made me want to avoid the office chair at my PC as that is what I sit on all day at work.
Reason 4
Obtaining a Gittlemon!!!
After much debate, and my absolute longing for a cat, we got Gittlemon. Sadly my three cats Naboo, Lola and Chauncey had to be left behind when I moved back home with my mum as she has a cat eating dog. Nothing depressed me more thinking about how much I missed them, especially Naboo who was more dog than cat, who gave me cuddles all day long, and never left my side. We got Gittlemon at 7 weeks and he is just amazing. Really noisy and happy and very very active, since he spends all day with my boyfriend, he has yet to give me proper cuddles but hopefully we will get there. When we bought him home I was so overwhelmed I cried (please do not judge I also cried at the google chrome advert in the week) because the longing for Naboo and Lola and Chauncey subsided and I had someone new to love and look after. Gittle is perfect with his huge blue eyes and all black fluffy body and cheerful meowing I couldn't be happier.
Reason 5
Breaking a Gittlemon :(
The second evening we had Gittle, something terrible happened. He was gambling about the bed and went to his favourite spot under it, and then climbed back up the bed (a trick he had learned that day) then jumped down again. He then started mewing in a mew that I recognised at once, he looked up at us and we thought he might just be being lazy and couldn't be arsed to jump up on the bed, but no, we scooped him up and his leg was just swinging. I felt sick to my stomach. He cried and his paw swelled, but it was Sunday, at midnight and no vet would see him unless it was 30 miles away, or £200 just to see him before they did anything. So we sat up all night cuddling him and keeping him calm, all the while stressing and feeling ill at what he might have done. Luckily, Gittle hadn't broken his leg, however we are still not sure what he has done. He has a sorrowful limp but anti inflammatory meds which seem to be doing something, however keeping him 'confined' has proved to be rather difficult. Hopefully the limp will subside, but this has been more stressful than any of the above.
So with so much going on, and work being an absolute bastard at the moment blogging has taken a back seat. However, this will not be the case for long, I have some amazing things I want to share and can't wait to get back into the Internet loop with all my favourite Internet pals.
