When I come around round round round round

I am a proper music elitist, I am not even ashamed to admit this. My sky is down (this is truely terrible when you can't pause live TV having got used to it for 6 months) so I just watched that John Lewis advert to see all the fuss, and all I could do was get really angry about some person ruining one of my favourite songs by The Smiths. I don't care about a kid in a gruffalo suit, or how some kid was so excited to give his parents gifts (as if) SOMEONE WAS BUTCHERING MORRISSEY HERE.

With that aside, music elitists are allowed some guilty pleasures every now and again. This song is it currently. I have listened to it about 50 times already today. It came on Kiss FM at work yesterday, and we all remarked on how it sounds a bit like a dog barking in a happy tune. Buzzin is going to be one of those songs that remind me of 2011 Christmas, the Christmas Do, my panelled leggings, the new work crowd and cold Friday nights in the pub. Literally cannot WAIT to dance to this next week! WHEN I COME AROUND, THEY GO OH OH OH OH OOOH

OK, here is my other music obsessions at the moment a bit more in keeping with my hipsteresque obscurity.  A band called Bad Fate.  I found this song on my friends Skateboard Company Discipline Skateboards, promotion video.  I pestered them for hours to find out who it was because this song is so lovely, and it is this tiny obscure band from Winnipeg who sound a bit like Sonic Youth.  I had to buy their album from their site for $5.00 as it wasn't anywhere else in the internets.  I don't think they even exist anymore which is really sad.

Last musical obsession at the moment is Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Ffunny Ffrends. Really lovely ethereal/shoe gazer like but with that new electro thing I hate myself for loving so much for the past few years. I just missed them play which is really gutting. I have only been to see Ben Folds this year, I missed so many good bands like The Melvins, Everything Everything and the worst OMG THE WORST was missing Mark Kozelek for £8.00. That was the day that I signed up for songkick though so now I never ever have to miss out on a gig for him again. Sons of Anarchy used a Sun Kil Moon song this week as well <3

So I will leave you with Mark Kozelek, in Sun Kil Moon his latest band. If you like super depressing music like myself, listen to his first band "The Red House Painters" because if you thought Morrissey was bad, listen to Katy Song, 24 and then Medicine Bottle in a row.....
