My Deliciously Macabre Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!  I don't really know what to think about Valentines day to be honest,  I think the hype of it all and how it is the day to show your one true love just how much you love them on one day is a bit bullshit, especially as I won't even BE with my boyfriend today, the day of love, which makes me feel ten times worse than I normally do for not conforming like everyone else, making me feel our loves isn't as deep and meaningful as it should be, stupid moonpig making me feel bad  its not like we don't act like a couple of loved up teenagers most of the time anyway.  BUT I am one of these gushy types who really embraces heart shaped toast with breakfast in bed, cards, intimate dinners in some tiny little over crowded restaurants and a huge bunch of flowers being delivered in front of loads of envious girls in the office.  Because that is what flowers being delivered is about really, isn't it?  No one actually wants flowers other than to make those other green eyed girls really jealous that your boyfriend gives a shit, has loads of money to waste on twelve dozen roses, and oh, is that a huge box of chocolates and a balloon as well?

However I did make one request for Valentines day this year, and that was to have the above anatomically correct heart cake made by Lily Vanilli!  Yes that is a cake above.  You can read all about it here but a quick run down is that they are only £7 and 20% of each sale goes to charity for young people with cancer.  Makes me feel slightly better about stuffing my face with yet more rich cakes and food.

It is literally amazing how realistic they look, and i can't wait to taste the blackcurrant and cherry blood sauce that comes oozing out of them.  Its so gory and macabre which clearly is right up my street and much better than an interflora bunch of roses and Thornton's chocolates.

I must all direct you Adele at thomassenland post on valentines day that was so on the mark and utterly hilarious that everyone must read it.  Now.
